• you will unlikely find cheap posters, wallets, clocks, magnets etc. stamped with characters & scenes

Sundry character goods (likely from Animate)

Most character goods that you come across in Tokyo will be legit or licensed.  If you’ve been previously buying bootleg goods (whether knowingly or not), you’ll notice an immediate difference in quality.  You will also notice a curious absence of items such as posters and wall scrolls.

Now this is not to say that Tokyo does not have its underbelly of bootleg character goods from China, but they will not be found in reputable shops and most of the stores you are likely to encounter.

As always, buy the real thing.
