• FROM:  use the hotel’s address and your travelling companion’s name. This will make it look like a gift from Japan.
• TO:  use yourself or your partner or room-mate. If you use yourself, you may get hit with duty, depending on the country you live in.
• DESCRIPTION:  use “personal use, used books, gifts”.
• NUMBER OF ITEMS:  approximate the number of items.
• TARIFF:  don’t worry about this.
• COUNTRY OF ORIGIN:  Japan.
• WEIGHT:  post office will fill in.
• VALUE:  lowball the value. Anywhere from $1 to $2 per book is not unreasonable for “used books”.
• GIFT:  mark as gift.
• REDIRECT:  use it if you can.
• HANDLING:  choose Surface, and they’ll likely stamp it SEA MAIL.
