About & Welcome
What is this place?
This website is an expanded version of my convention panel/discussion of the same subject, although with more detail and resources.
The focus here is to provide resources, information and guidance with respect to planning your trip to Tokyo, shopping for all things otaku in Tokyo, as well as advice on having an enriching cultural experience.
The intended audience are those who reside or are flying from Vancouver, BC Canada. HOWEVER, there should be sufficient resources herein to plan your trip no matter where in the world you live.
I will also augment this website with my own personal stories (as time permits, of course).

How is it organized?
The bulk of information can be found on the right hand side under the heading Contents. As you can see… numerous pages await you. Most pages will begin with a point form list, followed by a more detailed narrative. These Contents pages constitute the most informative pages of this site.
Recent Posts will provide resources (i.e. books and websites), information, lists of links, and personal stories from myself. The last few posts are listed on the bottom right hand side of the website.
Menu headings with appropriate Categories straddle the top of the website, and these will provide you with all related posts (not the Contents pages) in that specific category. Rather than reinventing the wheel, I will often provide a post of relevant LINKS regarding a specific subject matter, potted with my own thoughts. For my in-depth personal thoughts and guidance, see the main Contents and Personal sections.
Categories include:
- Vital – these are absolutely vital resources to your trip planning
- Books – books of interest to Otaku or the shopping in Tokyo experience
- Websites – other websites of note to aid in your trip planning
- Other – these are other resources that may not be specifically relevant to planning your trip to Tokyo, but would be of interest to Otaku
- Personal – my personal photos, stories, ruminations etc. Not essential to your trip planning, but some may find these interesting
- Contact – a contact form for any reason you may have to contact me
Use the SEARCH feature at the top right to find something specific (i.e. Ikebukuro, mail and so on)

Updates
I will update this site as time permits and as I come across new information that is relevant. I will also try and update with personal stories of my own (inspired by photos I’ve taken). As of mid 2010 I am merely working on creating, organizing and cataloguing the information I would like to present. Thank you for visiting, and I hope this site is helpful to you in some way. Arigato gozaimasu.
